President Welcomes Japanese Prime Minister

Discuss topics regarding national alliances and Chinese influence in Asia.

On Friday, President Biden welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga to the White House. The two world leaders highlighted the alliance between the two nations and pledged to work together for the prosperity of the South China Sea sphere of influence. They also spent time in closed-door meetings about strategic ways to maintain economic and technological growth for both nations.

The meeting also intended to send the message to the Chinese government that the U.S. is still a global force with its new administration. President Biden affirmed the U.S. commitment to the military protection of Japan saying that the two nations’ alliance can, “prove that democracies can still commit and win” and “deliver for our people.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would help President Biden form strong ties with the country’s allies.
  • For Japan and the United States to continue to have a close relationship and alliance.
  • For the State Department to work effectively to maintain open lines of communication.
